Leadership Development at Eagle Bay Camp

MAKING DISCIPLES, EQUIPPING LEADERS, ALL WHILE HAVING A TON OF FUN

Raising Up the Next Generation of Leaders

Leadership development is at the heart of everything we do at Eagle Bay Camp. We believe that by developing passionate and humble leaders, we’re not only investing in the future of Eagle Bay, but also in the churches, schools, and communities our young people return to.

We regularly hear from pastors, teachers, and employers that students who have completed our leadership programs are setting the standard in both leadership and service.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Making Disciples

Our Leadership Development Journey at Eagle Bay Camp is designed as a three-year pathway for students to grow as disciples and leaders, learning to follow Jesus’ example, live out His teachings, and serve others with humility and purpose.

Over these three years, we walk students through the key aspects of becoming a disciple of Jesus.

SLP — Understanding His Way

Discover what it means to follow Jesus by exploring:

The Beatitudes  |  His vision and the Kingdom of God  |  Living the Christian life

LIT 1 — Hearing His Call

Learn what it means to respond to Jesus’ call through:

The cost of following Him  |  Understanding who Jesus truly is  |  Developing servant leadership

LIT 2 — Being Sent on His Mission

Step into the calling to serve and lead others by studying:

Doing as Jesus has done  |  The Great Commission  |  Living faithfully in the time between His coming, going, and coming again

Equipping Leaders

At Eagle Bay Camp, we don’t just talk about leadership, we equip young people to live it out. Our leaders are trained and challenged through three key stages of growth, each progressing in depth and intensity:

Learning Servant Leadership

Students learn what it truly means to lead by serving others. Through daily duties and practical acts of service, they move from “coming to camp for my experience” to “creating and hosting an experience for others.”

Immersive Application

Leadership takes shape through hands-on experience. Students are entrusted with high-trust opportunities to lead from helping with activities and programs to guiding their peers all within a supportive mentoring environment.

Mentoring

Students grow through a culture of mentorship learning from those ahead of them (upward), supporting one another (peer), and investing in those who follow (downward).

Having a Ton of Fun

We believe that joy, laughter, and connection are essential parts of growth and community life at camp!

General Camp Life

Participants join in all the classic camp experiences: chapels, campfires, wide games, skits, theme nights, and more.

LIT Highlights

For our Leaders In Training, there’s even more to look forward to: out-trips, team-building challenges, and fun blocks designed to stretch skills and build friendships.

SLP HIGHLIGHTS

For our Servant Leadership students, the fun includes skills sessions, “Cuckoo Banana Time,” and other creative camp traditions.

Shared Experiences

Both groups enjoy tuck-ins, free time, and guys’/girls’ nights, fostering meaningful friendships and a deeper sense of community.
